10 July 2019 - FARE at ICNF congress in Porto

The 4th edition of the International Congress on Natural Fibres took place in Porto (Portugal) from May 19 to 22. This major congress in the field of plant fibres was an opportunity to present FARE work.

This year's congress theme was focused on the potential of natural fibres in the design of smart and sustainable materials for future generations.

In this context, Loubna Lemkhanter, engineer at FARE, gave an oral presentation on the results of the Interreg project Composens coordinated by FARE, in particular the effect of the matrix on the behaviour of fibres in bi-viscous extrusion: "Simulation of the morphology changes of lignocellulosic fibres during twin-screw extrusion of composites with petro/biosourced matrices".  FARE was also involved in the oral presentation of the main results of the "Rightlab" project on hemp retting for fibre production "Hemp retting : quality management of hemp straw used in agro-materials" involving La Chanvrière, FRD, IRDL and FARE.
